Introduction:
In the novel animal farm written by George Orwell, leadership is a significant part of the novel because it is an important function of management which helps the animals decided what they are going to do during the rebellion. Boxer, old major and the pigs are three characters that represent leadership. This is shown by there characters and how they act and treat the other animals. The reason these animals have this power is that they have worked for it
Boxer is a good portrayal of the value of leadership which is a key idea of leadership. Boxer shows how leadership is positive and if you have a positive mindset you will always get things done. Boxer always thinks things through for himself because he always works harder than any of the others. In the novel animal, farm boxer has 2 quotes that he always follows, Napoleon is always right and I must work harder.
Old major is an old boar that is a good representation of leadership which is the main key idea of leadership. the author’s purpose is to show how leadership is done and what to do. This is significant because the old major main idea is humans are the enemy, he wanted to overthrow Mr. Jones so he takes control and prepared the animals for a rebellion but they need some rules. So old major decided to write the seven commandments to assume the role that all animals should not act like humans. The seven commandments are significant and important because it represents animalism which was written on the barn so if the animals wanted to read it or see if they wanted. The most important commandment is the seventh one which reminds animals that all animals are equally matched.
The pigs are a good representation of leadership which is a key idea, Animal farms main character, is Napoleon. The two pigs soon become the forefront of animalism, Napoleon and Snowball. These pigs often fight and do not work together to get things done. The animals paradise begins to degenerate as Napoleon and the remaining pigs begin to take more and more privileges, and demanded that the other animals work harder for less food.this is significant because Napoleon is controlling them and telling them what to do witch is what a leader would do .by the end of the novel, it is evident that the pigs have become worse than the farmers that were in control formerly . Animal farm, explains that in society, there will always be a select few that receive more benefits than the rest of the population, and how the public allows this to happen. “The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the other animals”.
